Jim Carruthers (Director)

As director of the company, Jim is responsible for overall corporate policy and performance. With over 35 years’ experience in all facets of the civil construction industry, Jim has built the organisation from inception, and employs a Senior Leadership Management team to further the company’s capabilities and meet the contemporary challenges faced in construction.

James Carruthers (Senior Estimator)

Based at Head Office, James leads our very experienced and capable  estimating team providing critical support to projects within our operations group. Thorough methodical approaches to the bid and tendering process, James achieves successful outcomes in production and reaches cost effective solutions to variations on existing contracts. Having worked in several layers of the company, James has developed a well-rounded and practical approach to estimating works in the field.

Peter Stewart (Construction Manager)

Peter Stewart has a long and distinguished career with Carruthers Contracting spanning over 28 years service. During this period Peter has led the company successfully through some landmark construction projects across South East Queensland. Peter’s loyalty and dedication to the company and its client base that seen long-standing business relationships flourish with his professionalism.

Michael King (Human Resources & HSEQ Manager)

With several years industry experience in the Construction, Mining and Oil & Gas sectors, Michael fronts Employee Relations and for Carruthers Contracting. Having worked closely with numerous clients from: International Organisations and Tier 1 companies, through to smaller contractors – Michael leads the business in implementing its cultural standards and policies and procedures.

Richard van Eck (Accountant & Office Manager)

As both the company Accountant and Office Manager, Richard has been responsible for establishing the organisations full accounting system and for the synergies between these departments, such as: Payroll, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Cash Flows and Forecasting. In addition to controlling the day-to-day financial activities within the business, Richard also provides council to senior management given the wealth of experience he possesses from running his own business previously and his on-going work with community groups in the area.

Simon Lake (Procurement Officer)

Simon is a highly proficient Procurement professional with over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry. With additional experience in contracts and project management – as well as previously managing his family’s medium-sized construction company – Simon is also able to assist with the nuances of the bid management process; and use this skill and experience to achieve desired outcomes for both our clients and the organisation.

Project Managers

Carruthers Contracting’s expert project management team oversee the organisation’s comprehensive delivery services across a wide-range of sectors, including: Residential developments, Infrastructure, Commercial, Resources and Local Council & Government. Offering a complete client service, this team’s affable approach to providing solutions, will assist with up-to-date contract administration and cost control measures.

Supervisors

With decades of combined experience in construction methodology, Carruthers Contracting’s project supervisory allows for pragmatic construction outcomes, working in conjunction with the wider construction team. Extracting performance by overseeing the Foreman group, the supervisory team will maximise the output by providing the required resources – in both staff and machinery – at the correct project milestones to ensure works are completed on time and within budget.

Foreman

Carruthers Contracting Construction Foremen provide an extensive range of knowledge, experience and capabilities covering all areas of civil construction including earth works, pavement, concrete, sewer reticulation, storm water drainage and water reticulation. This highly skilled team is responsible for all production on-site including environmental, safety, and quality control.
